Who we are
This policy explains how we handle personal data on https://syncrid.energy. It applies to visitors and to people who write to us through the website.
The controller of your data is Syncrid, Lda., tax number (NIPC) 519356853, with its registered office at Rua Professor Manuel Baganha, n.º 205, 7.2, 4350-009 Porto, Portugal. In this policy, "we" means this company.
You can reach us at contact@syncrid.energy.
What data we collect
When you use the contact form, we receive:
- Your name.
- Your email address.
- The message you write.
- The language of the page you used (English or Portuguese).
Your browser and network send technical data to the server for each request. This includes your IP address, the page you ask for, the date and time, and your browser type. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes this data to deliver the site and to block abuse.
We do not ask for more data than we need. Please do not put sensitive data, such as health data, in your message.
Cookies and tracking
This website sets no cookies. It uses no analytics, no advertising tools and no social media plug-ins. Fonts and images load from our own server.
When you choose a language, your browser stores that choice in its local storage, under the name "syncrid-lang". This lets us open the page in your language on your next visit. It holds no personal data. You can delete it in your browser settings.
Why we use your data, and our legal basis
We use your data for these purposes:
- To read your message and reply to it. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, and your request to talk to us before any contract (Article 6(1)(f) and (b) of the GDPR).
- To keep the website and the form secure, and to stop spam and abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).
- To follow the law, if the law requires it (Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR).
We do not use your data for marketing. We do not send newsletters. We do not make automated decisions about you. We do not sell your data.
Who receives your data
We share data only with providers that help us run the website and our email. They act on our instructions:
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the website, runs the contact form and routes our email.
- Google LLC (Gmail) stores the messages we receive.
We may also share data with public authorities when the law requires it.
Some providers are outside the European Economic Area, for example in the United States. In that case, we rely on safeguards that the GDPR accepts, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
How we protect your data
The website uses HTTPS, so data in transit is encrypted. Only people in our team who need the messages can read them. We keep the access to our accounts limited and protected.
No internet service is fully secure. We cannot promise absolute security.
How long we keep your data
We keep a message and the details you sent for 24 months after our last contact with you. We keep it longer only if we start working together, or if the law requires it. Then we delete it.
Server logs at our hosting provider are kept for a short time, set by that provider.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask for access to your data.
- Ask us to correct data that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your data.
- Ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Object to the use of your data that is based on our legitimate interest.
- Receive your data in a common format (data portability).
- Withdraw your consent, if we asked for it. This does not affect what we did before.
To use a right, email contact@syncrid.energy. We may ask you to prove who you are. We reply within one month.
If you think we handle your data in a wrong way, you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), at https://www.cnpd.pt.
Changes to this policy
We may change this policy. The new version applies from the date at the top of this page. If a change is important, we will say so on the website.
The English version is the reference version. The Portuguese version is a translation.
